Zoom G3 v2.0 how to install patches from edit & share

I have a Zoom G3, I have downloaded some patches into Zoom edit & share, connected the G3 usb lead to my pc. I have the page showing the new patches, but when I connect the Zoom, pressing the 2 scroll buttons while plugging in usb, "ready for version update" comes up but I can't get any further than that. The manual says "execute the update" but an error message comes up - help ??!!!
