Help with effect on BOSS ME 80

I'm having difficulties using reverbs and distortion in a way that once I get the perfect distortion, choosing reverb seems to change drastically the distortion effect instead of just reverberating it.

The effect I'm trying to achieve is the same as the introduction of this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPR6gAPpPxg

However, once I get a distortion that's close to it, adding reverb will play it with a completely different effect. :|

Can anyone help with that, maybe giving me directions or references?
