download to macbook air.

could someone run through the download and install procedure onto mac to use in garage band....
the instructions are over simplified or I'm stupid.... I got it to work once with shadows patches but only by hitting
buttons and I don't know how it worked..... I tried with a pink floyd patch (numb) but cant get it work....
