Hello

The G2 patches is manual and maybe if you dial in the same values (if possible) you will get a good sound to tweak further.

Patches for G2.Nu, G3 and G5 could be converted with a website.
http://zkun.zouri.jp/cv.html

Don't know if it works or if the site is still active (could not reach it when i tried)

The patches themselves are regular txt files that can be opened in notepad and edited.
One line in it says:
<Product>G3X</Product>
Maybe that has to be changed to the unit you want to load the patch to and then change the file extension and your good to go but I don't own a unit myself so I can't test.

It's dead easy if you use Zoom's free "Edit and Share"
All G3 and G3X patches can simply be imported in a G5 library.
Within edit & share you can also drag your G3 patches and drop them on a G5 library.
G2 patches have a totally different structure therefor you can't import them but the G3 is 100% compatible with the G5.

Thanks haax for the patch editor link :

http://zkun.zouri.jp/cv.html

just recently i was fortunate enough to own a Zoom G3

so I'm trying to convert G2.Nu files into G3 format

with the editor .

by converting G2.Nu to G5 then to G3

Seems simple enough yet when i open the G2.Nu file with notepad or wordpad
(windows XP) and copy the entire data then paste it into the editor

i copy and paste this file: CleanRH-1 (G3P file)

I clear the editor , then copy and paste this new data back into the editor just to see if the conversion was a success.... and no dice , the data it spits out is mostly zero's within the parameter section within mostly all the boxes .

i tried copy and paste this file back into a G3P file extension and opening it within the G3 , it is virtually a blank patch . (tried with several different patches)

tried to convert G2.Nu to a G5 then to a G3 , didn't even get that far

Thanks for reading my babbling and hope someone here is smarter than my
blundering self to mention what I'm doing wrong .

Cheers ,
Take Care

Hi, I'm zkun!

To convert a patch G2Nu->G5, then G5->G3X, you should do the following way.

1) Convert G2Nu->G5
2) Import the new G5 patch data to ZOOM G5
3) Then re-export the patch data to PC
4) Please copy the re-exported patch data text to 'Patch Converter'
5) You can analyze it and convert it! Yeah!

When you import and re-export the patch data, ZOOM G5 adds text like

<prm6>0</prm6><prm7>0</prm7><prm8>0</prm8>….

to each <Module>section to fill blank parameter data.
A data converted by 'Patch Converter' should be imported and re-exported once
to convert continuously. Thank you for using!

Hi, Mr.catastrophy!

http://zkun.zouri.jp/cv.html

In this site, you paste your G5 patch text data into the big white field.
Then you click 'ANALYZE PATCH!' button.
Next, you go down the page, and click 'G5->G3X CONVERT' button.
You can get converted text data in the white text field below.
Copy the text data and paste it to your G3X patch file.
You can convert single patch file, and also patch group file.
Please try it.
