Can the G3x patches be duplicated on the G3xn?

I just bought the Zoom G3xn. I never owned the G3. So I'm really new to this processor and the 'Patch downloading scene'. I see incredible patches on the Website for the G3. One I really want is the Brian May - Show must go own. Can these be duplicated on the G3xn? I was told the G3 patches wouldn't work on it which crushed me. Theres only a couple G3xn patches on the site. There's some really great G3's to Download. (Satriani, Vai, etc). I'm almost thinking about buying the old one just so I can use those patches. If there's a way they can be duplicated then I'm all in for the G3xn. Any advice?

Yes they can
Just press the store/swap button. You'll find it in one of the LED's and select the location you wanna store

I sent an email to info@zoom-na.com a week ago.

I have recently bought a Zoom G3Xn and cannot seem to find out how to upload user created patches with the Guitar Lab software. Can I upload patches with extensions other than .zptc, such as *.gx3p?

Here was their reply.

Thank you for contacting us with your question. Your device must be connected via USB to the computer in order to place patches on it. You would only be able to place .zptc files on the device. You can find the available downloads on the G3Xn product page.

Leads me to think we can only upload .zptc which seems to be the official Zoom patches they release. Unless I'm wrong.

If this is true I will be truly disappointed in my purchase of a G3Xn

Got another email from them when I asked the following...

"Can you explain how we can create our own .zptc files, or are we supposed to only use these patches released from Zoom?"

They replied...

"Once you create your own patch on the device. You can connect it to Guitar Lab. In Guitar Lab You can take you created patch and drag it to your desktop. This will create a .zptc for that patch."

So it seems we need to use the device to create our own tone. Then export to Guitar Labs to create a .zptc to share.

Simple Answer is NO.

The new system is isolated from previous versions. So you cannot use patches from any other than the G3n and G3Xn and then G5n.
I found this the hard way. So I needed to create and modify my own effects
