Guitar effect patches for the Boss ME-70
It's one thing to have a sprawling pedalboard with every effect pedal you'd ever need, but if one pedal can give you awesome, versatile tone and portability, look no further than the Boss ME-70. Consolidating over 40 great Boss effects into a single floor-based multi-effects unit, the ME-70 pedal has no confusing menus or displays to sift through—it was designed to be just as easy as a collection of stompboxes. Organized into logical groups, these Boss effects are dialed in with dedicated front-panel knobs. All these guitar effects are housed in Boss's distinctive rock-solid, all-metal chassis, and it runs on either AC power or batteries for maximum portability.
Money - solos - Pink Floyd
Description:
Since in studio David Gilmour has used quite different stuff from stage, it's not very easy to simulate his sound. This patch is my suggestion for a hybrid between the studio and stage soundings of Money. Basically, for this solos Gilmour used a Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face (which in the ME-70 is reproduced by the FUZZ), a Colorsound Power Boost (which I've simulated using the PREAMP), and a Binson Echo (fairly represented by our DELAY UNIT). The solo has three parts but, when it comes to the effects, the only difference is the Echo: during the middle part it's turned off. One more thing: Gilmour uses the bridge pickup throughout the solo. Hope you enjoy it! And, please, give me some feedback. :)

This is pretty solid. For reasons you already mentioned, it's very difficult to simulate DG's sound - especially when you consider that on the studio edit of Money, the solos are double-tracked. I thought this was a very honest reproduction. I played it through a Marshall 4x12 cab with a Fender Strat, using the bridge pickup. I think the delay setting is absolutely spot on, it gives a nice thick, sweet tone without that 'echoiness' of reverb. Definitely a close match to live versions, where Gilmour usually used a Strat (he used a Customised 24-fret Lewis on the studio version). A good effort!
